Juki Button and Buttonhole Machine Parts: A Buyer's Guide

Button attaching, buttonhole and bartack machines do the same small motion thousands of times a day, so a few parts wear out much sooner than the rest. This guide walks through the parts that fail first on common Juki models such as the MB-372 and MB-373 button machines, the LBH-761 buttonhole machine and the LK-1903 bartack machine, and how to order the right one.

1. Button clamps: the most common cause of missed or crooked buttons

The clamp holds the button while the needle stitches through it. When the jaws wear, buttons slip or sit crooked. Match the clamp to the button type: flat buttons use a standard clamp set such as the 141-45650 button clamp set, while shank buttons need a shank clamp such as the B2401-373-0B0 shank button clamp assembly for the MB-373 series.

2. Presser feet: fabric control on buttonhole machines

A worn or bent presser foot lets the fabric shift, which spoils the buttonhole shape. The B1511-761-0A0 presser foot for the LBH-761 and the B1511-773-0A0 buttonhole presser foot for Juki and Jack are the usual replacements. Check the part number in your parts book, because look-alike feet differ in slot width.

3. Needle bars: when stitches skip or the needle deflects

A bent needle bar causes broken needles and skipped stitches. If you have replaced the needle and the problem returns, check the bar. Examples we stock are the B1401-761-000 needle bar for the Juki 761 buttonhole machine and the 400-10573 needle bar for the Juki LK-1903 bartack machine.

4. Thread control and small hardware

Uneven thread tension on a button machine often traces to a worn guide, such as the B3109-377-0A0 thread tension guide for the MB-373. Loose hardware is another quiet cause of trouble, so keep spare screws such as the SS-6152440 screw for the MB-372 on hand. They cost very little.

5. Lockstitch machines that share the shop floor

How to order the right part the first time

Note the exact model (for example MB-373 or LBH-761) from the machine plate.
Match the part number in your parts book, or send us a photo of the old part.
Keep one spare clamp and a few screws so a small failure does not stop the line.
After fitting, stitch a test button or buttonhole on scrap fabric before you resume production.
